Grading Scale for Used Lift Trucks
Reconditioned
The truck has been inspected and reconditioned to prime operating condition, and meets

Grade 5/Good +
The unit is in excellent condition, with only minor defects in the surfaces as noted in the condition information for each vehicle. There are no missing, broken or damaged parts that require replacement. The structure has not been repaired or altered. This unit is mechanically sound and all accessories are operable. All tires will be very good or better. All fluid levels are full and clean. No codes.
Grade 4/ Good
The unit is a better than average unit. This unit may require minor paint and body repairs. The frame/structure has not been damaged. This unit is mechanically sound and all accessories are operable. Only standard maintenance will be necessary. Tires will be good or better. No codes.
Grade 3/Average
The average unit will have normal wear and tear. There will be no structural damage. No bent or dented tractor or warped uprights, or out of square reach scissors. All hydraulic cylinders will not be bent, nicked or gouged.
All covers and guards will be in place with no major damage, minor repairable stress cracks are acceptable; there can be no holes or missing pieces. All parts, pieces, components and optional equipment will be present, installed and operational. All motors will be in good condition with no need for armature or motor replacement. The unit will have serviceable sound tires. This unit may require paint and minor body repairs. The unit is mechanically sound but may require maintenance or minor repairs. The fluid levels must be full with no leaks. No codes.
Grade 2/Rough
Unit shows signs of excessive wear and tear from high hours or a lack of regular maintenance. The body will have scratches and dents. The covers may require replacement as noted in the condition information for each unit. Broken and missing parts are to be expected. This unit may have multiple prior repairs performed at substandard levels. The unit may have mechanical damage or wear that prohibits the unit from operating properly. Repairs can be made but might be cost prohibitive. Minor leaks are likely; fluids may be low or require replacement. Worn tires are to be expected.
Grade 1/ Extra Rough
This unit has been severely abused or has sustained damage but may be drivable. It is cost prohibitive to extensively recondition this unit. Although operable, this unit is near the end of its useful life.
Grade 0/Salvage
Vehicle in inoperative, unit is good for parts only. Mechanical and body parts may be inoperable, disconnected, damaged or missing.
